You think that you, the creative genius,
the one with good taste and
high appreciation of what is superb and tasteful
in music, in art, in words. You initiate, lead, instruct .
Your attitude is lofty, high-browed and cavalier.
Purveyor of class and smarts.Top drawer.
You survey the hopelessly tasteless with disdain
dismiss their existence and march through
their insignificance creating a shock wave of awe
to their amazement. You preach
your dogma of design and shake your head
in smug realization that--they will never get IT.
You think your moneyed self will get you through
these trying times. To help you survive these interactions.
But just because you have the money doesn't mean
you're smarter than the rest. It only means you can
BUY your way through. Like Bertolt Brecht once said
“Sometimes it's more important to be human,
than to have good taste."
