poem

your
flourescence
foaming
at the mouth
flimsy thin facade
spitting out
droplets of God
fledgling
final vows
vast horizons
unseen
unheard
untouched
time swelling large
unused
horizontal dreams
drift on muted wings
heathen's heaven
awaits no one
and
everyone.

you were christian
once
begging for miracles
praying for fools
watching the
hole in the sky
open up
to swallow hard the
infidels
you lay prostrate
on the grass
wondering
how its all going down.
festooned in
ribbons and roses
Mary stands
stoic in the wind
blinking back tears
wondering
what went wrong
and watching
the sky turn
dark
and clouds
swirl and whirl
then disappear into
dust.
